The first production of this dynamic new work.  Some people break your heart.  And some steal your identity.  Breaking and entering, robberies gone wrong, con artists and library cards… Just what is your therapist going to say about all this?  Hang in there and buckle in for this fast-paced, wry, and wonderfully witty tale of romance, friendship, trust, mental health, deception, and identity theft. 

The Problem: Delivering the sonic environment for a world premiere requires balancing an intense, continuous electronic soundscape with real-time technical inputs. The script relies heavily on auditory storytelling—ranging from driving transition tracks to precise practical alarms and live filtered dialogue from off-stage characters.

The Concept: I treated the sound design as the engine of the production, using electronic compositions to propel the plot's anxious energy. Technically, I built a hybrid system using QLab to trigger automated practical effects alongside complex musical tracks. I integrated a wireless microphone system into the audio console to capture live backstage unseen performances, running them through specialized parametric EQs and routing matrices to achieve a convincing effect that shifted dynamically across the speaker array based on character blocking.
